In the mid-1960’s a book entitled Thunder on the Right urgently identified and warned against the anti-democratic, fundamental religionist, bigoted fanatics of the political reactionary right.  Among the American Nazis, KKK hoods and militia toughs was the John Birch Society, which ran Patrick Henry bookstores filled with scurrilous lying polemics attacking and undermining and diminishing government and advocating a treasonous program of subversion and sabotage.  The John Birch Society harnessed Cold War fears into hate against progressives, warning that President Kennedy, Civil Rights activists, and organized labor were in league with communists. One JBS newsletter civically advised members to “join your local P.T.A. and TAKE IT OVER [emphasis mine].”
Billionaire brothers David and Charles Koch are the wealthiest, and perhaps most effective, opponents of a progressive agenda today. Ranked as the 3rd richest people in America (each presently has $36 billion), the Koch brothers sit at the helm of Koch Industries, a massive privately owned conglomerate of manufacturing, oil, gas, and timber interests. David and Charles are responsible for the vicious attack campaign aimed directly at obstructing and killing progressive reform. Their opposition is a long family tradition of trying to shift the country to the far right; their father, Fred Koch, helped found the John Birch Society in the late 1950s.  Fred’s resistance to Russia significantly helped fuel the Cold War.  His sons continue to galvanize hundreds of thousands of middle class people into supporting the Kochs’ narrow agenda of cutting corporate taxes and avoiding consumer regulations to the ruin of our equality and democracy.
David Koch presents himself as a champion of science. Nevertheless, he has done more to undermine the public’s understanding of climate change science than any other person in America. Koch Industries has spent ten millions of dollars to misinform the public on climate change legislation. they funded the gate-crashers in Copenhagen to prevent progress on greenhouse gas control. How they must love the EPA-gutting their Tea Party minions are exacting in Congress. Much of the fierce opposition to health reform can also be credited to the Kochs. They may plan to make themselves (by any other name) kings, controlling all of our “little” lives. That makes me mad.

Apparent political idiots, such as,  Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann are bigger threats to the United States than most rational people would believe.  In their inflamed  ignorance and superstition, they are capable of the most heinous acts. People in the heat of religious faction are apt to despise the profane virtues of sincerity and moderation.

Daydreams and Power.

Karl Christian Rove (born December 25, 1950) was Senior Advisor and Deputy Chief of Staff to former President George W. Bush until his resignation on August 31, 2007. He has headed the Office of Political Affairs, the Office of Public Liaison, and the White House Office of Strategic Initiatives. Since leaving the White House, Rove has worked as a political analyst and contributor for Fox News, Newsweek and The Wall Street Journal.
Prior to his White House appointments, Rove was a Republican political consultant and strategist. Rove is credited with the successful 1994 and 1998 Texas gubernatorial victories of George W. Bush, as well as Bush’s 2000 and 2004 successful presidential campaigns. Rove has also been credited for the successful campaigns of John Ashcroft (1994 U.S. Senate election), Bill Clements (1986 Texas gubernatorial election), Senator John Cornyn (2002 U.S. Senate election), Governor Rick Perry (1990 Texas Agriculture Commission election), and Phil Gramm (1982 U.S. House and 1984 U.S. Senate elections).
Rove’s name has come up in a number of political scandals, including the Valerie Plame affair, the Bush White House e-mail controversy and the related dismissal of U.S. attorneys controversy, including the arguably illegal jailing of Governor Don Siegelman who contested Rove’s manipulation of U.S. attorneys.

No more grievous immediate threat to our free nation exists than the traitorous Republican Radical Right and their elitist masters.  In the first stage of fascism, a rural movement emerges to effect some kind of nationalist renewal. They come together to restore a broken social order, always drawing on themes of unity, order, and purity. Reason is rejected in favor of passionate emotion, rooted in the promise of restoring lost national pride by resurrecting the culture’s traditional myths and values, and purging society of the toxic influence of outsiders and intellectuals blamed for current misery. Sounds a lot like the Tea Party, doesn’t it?

Modern American conservatism was built on these themes. From Reagan’s “Morning in America” to the Rapture-ready religious right to the white nationalism promoted by the GOP through various racist groups, American proto-fascism offers redemption by promising to restore the innocence of a traditional, white, Christian, male-dominated America. The entire Republican party now openly defines itself along these lines. It is blatantly racist, sexist, repressed, exclusionary, and permanently addicted to the politics of fear and rage. It has no shame, no apologies. These same threads weave through every fascist movement in history.

Rove may be called a totalitarian corporatist – a fascist by any other name would smell as bad. He is presently engaged in subverting elections across the country, trying to kill all remaining opposition to the Death of the New Deal and to speed up the Rise of the Billionaire Corporatist (fascist) Princes.

We’d better use this coming election to stop RMONEY and the rest of these sobs, or, we’re toast.
