I see popular organization as the solution. Progressive Reform Party? There are elements now, drifting toward one another – MoveOn, Bernie Sanders, MovetoAmend, et al. We, the people are far from licked, and we do not have to go to armed battle. Gandhi and Dr. King and (yes, believe it) Nasser of Egypt did it largely with non-violence. We are approaching a tipping point. The path followed by authorities is collapsing and since Nature itself abhors a vacuum, I see a parallel politically. You are right about no savior, however. Quoting Eugene Debs, speaking in Utah in 1910: “I am not a Labor Leader; I do not want you to follow me or anyone else; if you are looking for a Moses to lead you out of this capitalist wilderness, you will stay right where you are. I would not lead you into the promised land if I could, because if I led you in, some one else would lead you out. You must use your heads as well as your hands, and get yourself out of your present condition.” The glue that bonded his comrades together still exists today: “Years ago,” he said, “I recognized my kinship with all living beings, and I made up my mind that I was not one bit better than the meanest on earth. I said then, and I say now, that while there is a lower class, I am in it, and while there is a criminal element I am of it, and while there is a soul in prison, I am not free.” I don’t care how detailed they are, their fixes won’t work because their entire system is collapsing.

Came across your blog while searching “Obama” and “corporatist” on Google. I was looking for anyone backing up my own opinions. Anyway. I like your thoughts since they eerily parallel my own. But for solutions to these issues you note like the Koch’s etc? I don’t see any legal remedies any more. The avenues seems to have been closed off incrementally over time. And there will be no saviour candidate to put wrongs right. I think that’s why the Feds are so eager to monitor emails, etc without warrants. Basically they know it too and foresee a nascent uprising some years down the track. They are pre-positioning for this. Watching for the ring leaders of tomorrow. The secret to Stalin’s dominance was meticulous records. Same for the Nazis. So everything goes on a massively correlating database. “They” will be able to predict what you have for breakfast tomorrow. Where you’ll be this afternoon. Who you’ll call tonight. It’s just algorithms and it’s all automatic. There’s no agent sitting there with a pair of headphones. When somebody does 2 things that make a specific connection they are automatically elevated in ranking by x places on the risk totem. Banks have systems like this to monitor employees. I’ve worked with them. They are incredibly detailed. In that regard we don’t stand a chance. I don’t see a solution.

While we at it, also read and discover what’s in the US Constitution. Become fully versed and conversational about the document, and share this understanding, arming others around you. Also, join me in creating true transparency in all layers of government. If you tax a soul, your books must be open and transparent to the same. With the low cost of the WWW and digital technology (relatively speaking), its high-time to post every and all things deemed public records publicly. This was the mission behind Sankofa, LLC. Full transparency acts like “bug repellant,” starving off those otherwise nefarious characters, both in and outside the government. Let us soon come to recognize the full intentions and methodology of our republican (little “r”) form of governance. One love.
